I am bad at planning out my writing which then leads to me frantically writing a story and then losing interest and then never coming back to the story because I cannot for the life of me remember where I was going with it. I think there is something to planning things out a little like you said! I can still leave room for the writing to flow but give myself some guidelines (and hints) for further down the road when I can’t remember the end goal!
Thanks for sharing! I’ve found that it’s good to have a balance, but it’s also not an easy one to find. For me, I normally have a strong sense of the start and end of a story and some big milestones that happen throughout. It’s always those in between moments where I get stuck and am likely to lose interest. I try to plan times where I sit down and just jot ideas down in my brainstorming document about the little details. Even if it’s not the most fun at the time, I know my future writing self will thank me!
